The Native Amerians who lived in this area believed Bryce Canyon was formed before there were any Indians. A race of beings called To-when-an-ung-wa, the Legend People, lived here. They were not people but could make themselves look like people. The Legend People who lived here were bad and did something wrong so Coyote turned them all to stone where they stand to this day.
