I shot this back in July on the same day as the dragonfly photo but I never did anything with it because I didn't like how the original capture looked. (Roll over the image to see it.) A friend lent me a new book on using LAB to do color corrections so I took another look at this shot. Wow, is LAB powerful. All this took was a Curves layer and a Levels to bring down the midtones a bit followed by a bit of sharpening back in RGB mode. You can see how powerful the LAB colorspace can be, it took just a couple of minutes to do the corrections on this. Very cool stuff.
